In one point perspective, one of the horizontal vanishing points of our boxes is going to be at infinity, as will be one of the vertical vanishing points. As such, all of our vertical lines will run perpendicular to the horizon, and all of the horizontal lines will run parallel to it, leaving only one set of lines that converges (towards our single vanishing point).

With two point perspective, you can't be looking at the box from too high or too low of an angle - but you have a bit of wiggle room as to what constitutes "too high" or "too low". Same goes for one point perspective, where close enough to looking straight at one of the faces of the box will still work.

What is one point perspective? The lines of this road converge at a vanishing point on the horizon line. Objects that are near the viewer are at the bottom of the picture. Objects that are far away are near the horizon line. Objects will appear to get smaller and closer to the horizon line the farther away they go.

One point perspective goes one step further. In two point, the vertical vanishing point is at infinity, leaving the remaining two vanishing points on the horizon line. To move into one point perspective, we move one of those vanishing points so far off to the side that it too goes to infinity.

20-01-2020· Let's draw a simple box using one-point perspective. Draw a horizon line about one-third down your page. Use a small dot or line to mark a spot roughly in the middle of the line. That's your vanishing point. Note: Don't make your vanishing point as big as this example. You want it to be small so that all your lines finish in exactly the same spot.

All objects (including the floor tiles) vanish to a single point on the horizon line which, as we know by now, is our eye level.
